What is Ledger® Live App?
The Ledger® Live App is the official desktop and mobile interface for managing hardware wallets from Ledger®. It acts as the bridge between your physical Ledger® device (hardware wallet) and the blockchain: view balances, send and receive assets, install apps on your device, and manage multiple accounts across Bitcoin, Ethereum and thousands of tokens.
Ledger® Live Download & Desktop App
Always download Ledger® Live from the official Ledger® website. Choose the correct installer for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) and follow on-screen prompts. After installation, connect your Ledger® hardware device to complete setup and add accounts through the app.
Ledger® Live Login and Authentication
Ledger® Live doesn’t store private keys — they stay on your Ledger® device. Login to the app uses a local app password (optional) and the device’s PIN. Some users also pair Ledger® Live with mobile via QR codes for push transactions.
Troubleshooting: common login & connection issues
- Ledger Login not working: verify your device PIN and ensure the hardware device firmware is up-to-date.
- Error connecting Ledger® account: try a different USB cable/port, use a powered USB hub if needed, and enable browser support or the relevant OS driver.
- Ledger Live App not working / Can't verify Ledger® Wallet: reinstall Ledger® Live from the official site, clear the app cache, and reboot your computer.
- Unable to connect Ledger® to Trezor (or vice versa): Ledger® and Trezor are separate hardware ecosystems; they do not directly pair. Use interoperable software wallets that support multiple devices if cross-vendor management is required.
Account recovery & 2FA
Ledger® account recovery is performed with your 24-word recovery phrase on a compatible device — never share it. Ledger® devices don’t use traditional 2FA; the device signature + PIN model is the security layer. If you think your recovery phrase or PIN is compromised, move funds to a new device immediately.
Where to get help
Use the Ledger® Help Center and official support channels for sensitive issues. Avoid third-party links or unsolicited social media help — scammers often impersonate support to steal recovery phrases.
